So, on September 25th, I am having a hysterectomy done. Who knew at 30 years old I would have to have a hysterectomy. I am very, very nervous about it. I am somewhat looking forward to it, since I have had 5 previous surgeries for Endometriosis. I have had severe endometriosis since 2000 and have had many surgeries that help only temporarily and then it comes back full force. We really wanted to have another child but I am very grateful to be able to have the one I do have. She is my baby! Anyway, I am scared to death about it and hopefully all will go well and everything will be o.k. after. I have had tons of pain, so hopefully this will take all of that away. Wish me luck!

Before having this irreversible surgery I urge you to watch the short video "Female Anatomy: the Functions of the Female Organs" at www.hersfoundation.org/anatomy.
Hysterectomy may be the beginning of your problems, not the end. Women invariably find they have traded one set of problem for another, and they would trade their original problems for what they had before if they could.
I am a 33 year old mom who has gone through pain that probably most are lucky never to see. I just had a hysterectomy in January, worried like you, wondering if I would be worse off (hormonally) after the surgery. I can't tell you how I wish I would have done it years ago!!!!! It is the best thing I've ever done for myself and I would highly recommend it!!!! Good luck!
Thank you Amy! That's what I'm hoping for!
